My plants don't seem so happy

2 clownfish wll live very happily together in this tank, and thanks to the more than adequate filter and 10% weekly water changes, means the water quality will be very high and the clowns will be very happy.

Yes but it is to smalle for fish though apart form some snails and shrimp??

i think the difficulties would lie in keeping the water chemistry stable in such a small space, the same problem exists in freshwater tanks but its easier to maintain in FW environments than SW environments. Ive never kept a sw tank so im not sure of the details but i do think a SW setup in one of these would look amazing, but i dont see bulbs for SW setups available for those hoods and setting up, propagating, and trimming coral seems like it would be tedious from that small hole.

It is too small for clown fish period. From a maintenance stance the fuval edge is horrible. Also at 6 gallons this tank is I believe considered "pico" for salt water. It is NOT and easy thing to achieve. But of course in all honesty do what ever you want with it, but if you follow your above post I am certain you will have some dead fish on your hands. Then only to realize to dove into much to deep of water.

edit: as far as your freshwater plants. I am wondering if they ever grew considering you had zero nitrates?
