Looking Good/ Thanks to you guys

It was right after arrival, the leaves started just falling off. I think it was just to close to the light which sits right on top of my glass top. I am running two 48" standard lights with 6500k bulbs, I also have a blue moonlight on at night. Its coming back strong now though so no complaints, im thinking it was my fault anyway. I was about to give it up, moved it lower in the tank and it was like throwing triple ten fert on it, turned a nice green color and sproting out growing toward the light very quickly.
Speaking of green, all my plants are bright green I would like to add some plants with some reds or other colors to change it up a bit. What would be a good choice?

tiger lilys are red but red plants need more intense light to keep them red so if they turn brown you'll know theres not enough light.red cabombas looks nice too

Hmmm I doubt its your light, that's the same lights I grow them under here. I'd suggest acclimate the plants longer next time, whenever I get new plant or trade plants I get them out of the box and have a 3-5g bucket full of tank water in which they sit @ room Temp for about 24hrs before I plant them in my tank and then I generally plant in the evenings (so then the tank lights are out). I always had great success this way.

I'd need to see if I have individual pictures to post for you (or allow me time to take some) but colors like different shades of red's are nice, coming to my mind from my tanks right now would be
Red Crypts for foreground fully red; Ludwigia for a Stem plant that grows quick (its half red half green), and of cause my all time favorite is the Red Tiger Lotus.

I know what you mean with your statement but it may be misleading a little and may let people think they need higher end wattage for red plants.
It is in fact true that plants reflect the lights received, e.g if you had a bulb with a Kelvin rating purely BLUE in color that would show your plants differently then if you had a low Kelvin with mainly yellow.

However what he's got is 6500K which is what I have and you see the pictures of my red plants (or check out my tanks here http://www.tropicalfishkeeping.com/p...hp?userid=1029)

Angel,,, love those plants esp one and two picture. How much for an assortment of all three and some more pennywort? I am in need of more foreground plants as well. Let me know what you can do and either post here or send a PM.
I have intentions of purchasing a better light in the not to distant futre. Im planning on about 200watt with 6500bulbs and the feet that raise it up off the tank. Also forgot to mention that I run a timer on my current set up that turns it out for about 2 hours during the daytime. The lights stay on about 11 hours total per 24 hours.
I will work on the full tank shot tonight, the side already pictured is the better half LOL. The other is growing a little slower, I think this is due to a sliding door that lets a little bit of indirect light in on the better side during the evening but I could be wrong.
Also, I didn't acclimate the plants very well at all, well to be honest I took them out of your box and planted them LOL Sorry about that,,,,,, I am a newbie with plants LOL. I will do better next time!

Honestly let me dig through my Jungles tonight and see what I have in there right now lol. I def have some Ludwigia (the green-red stem plant) and I know for sure a few small daughter plants of the Red Tiger Lotus (but they grow SLOW I tell you, from a ~2" daughter plant to about 10-12" height can take easily half year).
I'll make a list of all I got/ take pictures.

As for lights, do you just want to exchange the bulbs? I always buy and have been buying for yrs now the bulbs at Lowes and Walmart from GE or Phillips or Bright effects; and then the 6500 Kelvin right now all my tanks are stocked with the one's from Lows by GE called "Daylight" at 6500K rating. Its a LITTLE bit cheaper then the pet store lol

I'm soooorrryyyyy I normally always add a not but I really wanted to mail them out to you asap and just packed them all up well and ran to the postoffice before they closed that day I just have send you a msg, my bet.
