Would you like them better like these pictures? That's a mixture of Corkscrew & Leopard Vals planted late Nov last year to now (about 4ft long now all tangled up on the surface of my "new" 55g)??

What you mean you can't grow them??? Do you have too much light on the tank? Hard water or now here soft water I get any Val grow like weed apparently.

Just did a final update on the "Lower lights Report" as well here Lowering lights: Report has some more pic's there too (mind the before-after shot at the end; that even made me giggle)

I bought a few new plants at my LFS....they usually don't have the best selection, but I was told they switched suppliers and I picked some more ligwigas.....they are a darker red and really bring the rest of the natans into play....pics to come as soon as the camera battery charges....

I also noticed a slight film on the top of my water, bet after checking out another thread on the forum. I'm not too worried about it...seems to be harmless

Some of these plants are starting to fill in pretty well I think....also added the tabs to the gravel near the swords, so that should help too

here's some updated pics on my tank....I added two more ludwigas from my LFS, they aren't the natans...I forget their name...but they are almost all dark red leaves, when paired with the natans, look really nice!!! (i think haha)

That film is indeed totally harmless just not so pretty; it often develops in newly planted tanks and then subsides by itself a lil while later. In my last set up with the 55g nightmare tank there that film became REAL think and did NOT wanna leave me; did not took weeks to get rid of it. But I highly highlu doubt yours will cause any headache; like I said mine was a nightmare start up and really had any & all classic 'wrongs' go wrong indeed.
