How Much dwarf hairgrass?

I am doing a large carpet for my 75 gallon tank. How many pots should i order from aquariumplants.com to give it a good start to fill in? Or are there any better places to order plants from? I am looking for a nice carpet effect and in one corner of my tank i am doing a assortment package of different plants to be the centerpiece.

Well, if you're using sand, the hairgrass should spread fairly fast...

I would probably order about 8 pots, and split them up when they arrive...

If you have gravel, I'd go with dwarf sag or narrow leaf chain sword.

I'm just using this black nutrient rich substrate I ordered from that website, not gonna use gravel above it cause I like the black, but it will eventually be completely covered if the carpet effect works. I hope it will work with the dwarf hair grass

I have both the dwarf hairgrass and the narrow leaf chain sword growing in rock. The Chain sword is doing great and spreading, I really like it. The dwarf hairgrass looks like it did when I planted it. Not that he asked but I would use the chain sword if it were me.

It depends on what you want it to look like, dwarf chain sword grows in little bunches, dwarf hairgrass has a much more even spread, more like actual grass.

I want the dwarf hairgrass look, how intense is intense. I'm getting mixed reviews on the light intensity. But i have a 4 bulb HO t5 system with led moonlighting, since I want to make this a discus tank I was going to only use two bulbs at once which is about 108 watts of HO. I can add two more if that's enough but I don't want it too bright to scare the discus. What is a good WPG for dwarf hair

It likes a lot of light, but even though you have a lot of light available for that tank you are limited to using 2 bulbs. It puts you close to 1.5 WPG of T5 light which is toward the upper end of moderate lighting. Any higher and you will need pressurized CO2. You will probably still have initial algae problems at that starting light level. You can't run all 4 bulbs unless the tank is fully high tech, even then that is a LOT of light. Higher your lighting goes the less stable your tank is as it becomes increasingly depended on daily fertilizers and other maintenance.

Angel079 had a tank with hairgrass... She had about 1 wpg and it grow in completely in a month or two.
