How long does it take java moss to attach to driftwood?

I want to attach some Java Moss to pieces of driftwood. I have cotton thread and cotton polyester thread in my sewing basket, are those suitable or should I purchase another kind? And how long will it take the Java Moss to attach itself to the driftwood?

Most people will use fishing line so it doesn't show but those should be fine. You can carefully cut away the thread after it is attached. I actually just sat a few rocks on top of bits of the moss and it attached itself quickly. Then I just removed the rocks and it stays on the wood.

It can take awhile to attach sometimes. I actually used sewing thread myself with my Java Moss when I attached it to some driftwood. LoL that was about a month ago. I probably need to check and see if it is attached by now and cut the string.
