Gravel, it's enough?

thats really nice looking. this is also going to be my first planted tank. i had a couple plants in my 20 gallon i had but that was before i knew anything about actually taking care of them. i hope mine turns out as well as yours did!

Waste tends to stay on top of the sand because it's densely packed compared to gravel. You just hover over it with your hose or vacuum. Maybe wiggle it a little to create a little movement of the waste to help it along. Many folks find sand easier to deal with than gravel insofar as keeping it clean looking.

As fish monger says, to spot the waste on the sand is easier, than the gravel, plus, the sand I have is white color, besides the sand is heavy and you can do vaccum very closer to it, although with my cleaning crew (Corys and Bothias), believe me I only use the vaccum system to make the water changes, the sand is always clean. In the 20g long I have 2 clown plecos but they're shy and lazy, so, I use a vaccum syringe to remove the debris I find.

Thanks ! Yes it is, a Nikon D3200 with an AF-S Micro NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8 G lens. I still have the old Coolpix L120, and it works good, take a look...

Yes, but it's obviously not the same, even with the site restrictions on size you can see the difference.

I got a cannon SX20 a few years back and thought I could get away without the proper manual focus so that everyone else in the family could cope with a decent resolution camera.. Until trying to take some decent aquarium shots, that silly rotary focus is such a pain unless you are taking stills and fish don't stay still. I REALLY just wanted to get a digital insert for my old film Pentax program plus but that wasn't something that was terribly feasible.
