Good way to disinfect anacharis?

I've heard even the mildest of bleach dilutions can kill it, is there a better way to disinfect or clean Anacharis? Thank you in advance!

I would not bother. Any solution actually strong enough to "disinfect" will have to be so strong as to seriously harm if not kill the plant.

Then there is what you are attempting to get at. If algae, above holds. If fish parasites like ich (if the plant came from a tank with live fish), then quarantining the plant in a tank without fish for 2 weeks should work without any treatment.

Thank you Byron! Basically I discovered planaria and other things that give me heebiejeebies this weekend and want to kill the stuff lurking in the plants. Maybe just a good all 'bath' in dechlorinated water and maybe a soft toothbrush to scrub would work?

Planaria are harmless, they are not parasitic. Some fish will eat them. I gather excess food and waste can cause them to appear, and some suggest no feeding for several days plus a good water change with gravel vacuuming.
