Fish eating my Live Plants?

Hey All,

I am wondering, why would my fish be eating my live plants?, The plants are still alive, the fish are eating all the leafs I am not feeding them enough, I feed them twice a day?

Hey.

I have a molly, a Fancy Guppy, 7 tetras, and I have 4 Cories and a pleco I had a betta in the tank as well, but I have removed him, these are all in a 20 Gal tank.

i remember reading somewhere that common plecos can eat plants and love to do so. could be worth googleing

just got done with my search and found out that the "Common Pleco" do eat plants

Unless the "tetras" are one of the rarer vegetarian species, I don't think these fish are eating the plants. Mollies will nibble algae off the leaves. A pleco might but doubtful. I suspect there is another issue; is it possible to post a photo of one of the plants?

There is a nutrient deficiency and possibly light as well. Easy to fix.

What is the light (assuming fluorescent, so what is the bulb make and wattage), and how long is is on each day? And are you adding any fertilizers, liquid or root tabs?

Well I am figuring it is a light issue, seeing as I do not have a hood, I have my daughters Spongebob LED lamp over the tank, So I will need to get something better,

Yes, a regular fluorescent single-strip fixture will work. Full spectrum or cool white tubes promote the best plant growth, and full spectrum gives you a natural appearance for plant and fish colours.
