Dwarf Sag Flower?

So yesterday I was doing a PWC on my ten gallon and there was a 'thing' on one. At first glance, it looked like a regular runner coming out, but it had a bud at the end! I left that afternoon and when I came back a few hours later, it had almost doubled in length! This morning it was a little longer. It is pointing sort of diagonal/horizontal if that makes any sense. The only info that I could find online was that the flowers are small and white. Is there anything else that I need to know or do? Thanks!

Cool! So exiting! The only thing that I did differently lately is upgrade the lighting. I am making some DIY root tabs soon to keep up with the lights (raising everything so I don't run into algae). I wonder what will happen then?

The Sagittaria species are in the same family as the Echinodorus (swords) and Helanthium (chain sw). Plants may produce an inflorescence, though not often with Sagittaria, that will grow to the surface and above, depending upon nutrients and light. Adventitious plants will usually appear from the nodes, but flowers above the surface may occur.

The photo below shows the flower of this species, Sagittaria subulata. Not surprisingly, it is near-identical in appearance to the flowers of the closely-related Echinodorus and Helanthium.
