Do I have enough lighting?

So I have Two 30watt florasun bulbs for a 125gallon it works out to about 2.5watts per gallon. They are in regular Flo lamps about a foot above the water. I only have a few bunchs of anacharis and some banana plants. I plan on making it a fully planted tank.

That is a little confusing. If you have two 30 watt bulbs then you only have 60 watts. I know you probably have more but I wanted to make sure things were clear as to what you are asking.

For a 125 gallon, 2.5 watts per gallon is a lot of light and you should be able to grow anything you want to. Assuming of course the bulbs are 6500 Kelvin or higher and are good plant growth bulbs. If this is what you have then you are on your way to being able to grow many plants and have a lot of good growth. If you do have 2.5 w/g with good quality lighting, I would also recommend looking into getting pressurized CO2 sooner or later. It may become a neccesity to control algae down the road.

I guess I'm reading something wrong but if its really only 60 watts and its a 125 gallon tank, you are at less than 1/2 watt per gallon. Maybe its a 125 litre tank? That would make it more like 2 watts per gallon.

Wow! I really thought it was around 2. Explains my state of mind lately. Lol. Sorry. So I guess I have extremlty poor lighting.

That's why we ask as many questions as we do. Is better to get the facts out before someone gets mad at us for giving bad advice. Don't worry about it, we all do it at one time or another.
