Could someone please give me some info on Cryptocoryne wendtii if anyone has any expirence with it please share your comments, also is it avilable in Australia?

One of my favorite plants. They seem to be planted mostly in front due to their small size. Crypts are slow growers although they seem to establish fast(at least, in my experience).:)
Not sure about their availability in your area but it may depend with the law of supply and demand.

Wow, I was told the same thing about their size and it turned into a simple monster. Took up half of my 10 gallon tank and was on it's way to take it over completely if I let it go. I have since removed it and am looking for a smaller one.

The best thing I can tell you about it is to leave it alone once you have it planted. Root tabs directly under the base of the plant helped a ton with massive growth and fast growth. I trimmed mine down to nothing, litterally only the roots and the nubs of the stems and it grew back in less than a month to a much larger size. Lower light might keep it smaller but it IMHO, it is best as a midground to background plant in a large tank, something like a 35-75 gallon and would make a really nice centerpiece in either one.

ive had problems with plants in my tank all but crypts once they get going they can carpet a tank ive even had flowers

I've got C. wendetii in two tanks - var Bron, Tropica, and Mi Oya. Awesome plant. When shaded it stays really nice and small. When well lit, it can get 10" tall. I had one in my 20 gallon Amazon tank that was sold to me as a "Tropica Sword". (First planted tank). It got every bit as big and bushy as the Amazon Compacta I had in there with it. Bigger than the Ozelot (WTF?). In any case, when I took it out to rearrange, I was able to separate it into about 6 plants and use it as a mid ground divider between my tall stem plants and the JavaMoss lawn I have going in my Loach Tank
