I know you explained it. I'm sorry but I didn't quite understand why still. I think I get the idea though. I won't NEED more CO2. And I'll end up suffocating the fish? I don't think it would be possible to give the plants too much CO2... they just wouldn't grow anymore than they normally would...?
I have an issue... The plant fertilizer was kinda opened it seems. :/ Likeeee. The seal was still on, but the seal wasn't fully connected. Like, 1/5 of the seal wasn't connected to the thing, so you could pour it out if you wanted too. And the lid wasn't on too tightly. I attached a picture.... see the crust? :X the thing is full but I'm just paranoid now. Do you think it's ok? Does the color look right for fertilizer?
I tested my PH and the tap water was 7.5-8 and same with my fish tank. :/ That seems rather high, don't you think? Dunno if I should post this here. Didn't wanna make another thread elsewhere. :/
The test kits came early. :o
Ammonia is 0
PH- 7.5-8 (was between both colors...) (tested tap water it was 7.5-8 as well)
Nitrite - <0.3 mg/l (lowest possible on the test)
GH - Needed 17 drops. It says 1 drop= 1/2 degree dH
KH- 10 drops (same as above for dH)
Not sure what dH is the directions don't say im trying to find.
DH is degrees hardness. At 1/2 degree per drop you GH is 8 1/2 and KH is 5 degrees hardness. Your water parameters are good. The ph should be able to be narrowed down a bit more than 7.5-8. That's a bit of a wide range. Maybe it's the way the test kit is. For ex. my test kit for ph reads in .2 increments.
Ah the test kit is in increments of .5. It's hard to tell the blue apart it looks like it could be both. I'll test it later again. Glad my water parameters seem good. :] Good in general for plants and fish? Or just fish?
The fertilizer is fine. Just shake the bottle thoroughly before each use not because of the seal issue but because this is standard, you want all the ingredients mixed up well. All ferts are the same in this respect.
As for the test kits, I'm not sure you're correctly interpreting the hardness; what brand are they?
Soo it's monday and sweetaquatics ships monday and tuesday. :D Anyone know how to find out the progress of the shipment or find out if it's shipped yet? Will I recieve an email or is there some place to check online?
