CO2 for planted tank

Echinodorus bleherii to be exact. They're easy to grow. I doubt mine will last long though as I have an ancistrus plec which loves to eat plants. She hasn't touch my Nymphaea stellata so I guess that plant is safe.

P.S. I'll try to gather as much pics of red plants as possible so hang in there until I got them posted tonight.:)

That's what I experienced on the rotalas I bought from Cartimar.
Dahcmed, your plant sounds more like Rotala macrandra.

Ok. The amazon is showing some browning (not sure if it is because of the bad water condition: ph 7.5, ammonia 0, no nitrite and nitrate testers :(

I want to create a DIY CO2, but am afraid it would lower the ph, that it might affect the molly. I have gold mollies and ribbon Guppy. I know the mollies ph is 7.5 - 8, and current ph is 7.5.

And if in case, how do I get the pH up?

if your water is hard you wont have a problem with a home made reactor- the harder the water the more CO2 it will takt to lower the PH, if your fish start gasping you know you have too much water.
You can use KH buffers to increase hardness, or Ph buffers to raise/lower ph.

Plants grow faster with CO2, normally with the addition with high watt lights and maybe additional fertilizers. But they can grow without adding CO2. WC (water changes) normally contain CO2. You can normally verify by filling a container with water from your tap and checking the pH. Then check the pH after a day or so. If there's a slight change in pH, then there's a possibility that your water contains CO2. The pH change signifies the CO2 gassing off.
