Carpet Plants

Hey! I am trying to look for a hardy low light carpet plant. I have a 10 gallon tank set up with driftwood, a watersprite, an Anacharis, and I use quikrete play sand as substrate. My light is kinda low, 1 wpg. Can you please recommend a carpet plant to me and anything else that I might need to take care of one?

Generally speaking, the "carpet" substrate cover plants tend to need higher light and thus more nutrients to balance, perhaps including CO2 via diffusion. I don't bother with these because I have natural (=low-tech) tanks, so I will leave it for those members who have these plants to offer suggestions. I know some have had reasonable success with certain species in lower-tech tanks.

Your light might be low for this though; what exactly do you have? Might be able to suggest something here. One thing that can work though with less light and nutrients (no added CO2) are some of the mosses now becoming available.

I run med lights and so far after 3 or 4 tries,,,,,, no luck with carpet plants. I do have some dwarf baby tears surviving but that is about the extent of it. Pretty much have given up on the carpet plants until one day I decide to do Co2 and high light.
