The first picture looks like a melon sword possibly? Echinodorus osiris. Found a picture that looks very similar. This plant is aquatic.

The first looks like a Amazon Sword, to me, could be wrong. The second... it's hard to tell. Can you take a better pic?

second looks like a hygrophilia which i'm not sure though. First is a sword. Looks like it has emersed grown leaves though which will die eventually and submerged leaves will grow. Both are fully aquatic plants though so don't worry.

I assume those are "tube plants". The first looks like the emersed form of echinodorus argentinensis (Argentine Sword). Those shorter 'stubby' leaves will eventually die off but they will stick around for a surprisingly long time while the new growth comes in. You should notice new longer more slender leaves growing from the crown. I would cut the old emersed leaves off (even if they are still green) once you have decent new growth. The old leaves most likely won't grow very much if at all. I have a few of those plants in my 29g I got with the plan of having them a corner plant in the back, the old leaves haven't grown at all but there is a ton of new growth (albeit slowly) coming from the crown. It as with any other sword will get very large. Mine grows noticable slower than the other echinodorus in my tank.

The second, while it does resemble a hygrophilia. It looks like another "tube plant". I recognize it but the name slips my mind. If I stop by the Petco this weekend I'll check it out.

All are correct on the first being an Echinodorus. I'd be pretty certain it is the common "sword" which is usually named Echinodorus bleherae and is in pour profiles. Expect the leaves to grow very different once the plant is established; present leaves are emersed form.

The second plant--which I must say does remind me of mint too--is I suspect Hygrophila corymbosa. Light and nutrients can affect the appearance of this plant, as indeed many other aquarium plants, so one can't expect it to look like this or that photo. The leaf structure leads me to think Hygrophila. This too is in our profiles.

The sword will do well under moderate light. The Hygrophila needs more light, moderate to bright, so plant it in the open where it will receive the most direct light and hope for the best. I tried this plant in two tanks but have insufficient light and it slowly grew upward but the leaves only remained on the stems for the top couple of inches.
