Is there a certain way I should cut it? | If it is the daughter plant at the end of the spike that you want to remove, you can cut the spike off just below where this plant is attached. It won't hurt to plant that small bit of spike with the roots, or you can carefull remove the plant. I find that once there is a good cluster of leaves and a mass of roots, the daughter plant pulls away from the spike quite easily. Grasp it at the crown so the leaves and roots remain attached to each other. You can do this and leave the spike uncut if you like. Once both (all) daughter plants are removed, I pull the spike out from the parent plant; it comes away the same as leaves do.
