3g Betta Tank

So here is my daughter's 3g tank. Meet Honey Badger, the Betta splendens, and Candy, the zebra Nerite snail. I don't think this tank is anything special, but its nice. And it's inhabitants couldn't be happier, so that's what counts.

It has Crypt wendtii 'bronze', Java Moss, Italian Val, Frogbit, and Anubias nana. It also looks brighter in the tank than it actually is. Silly camera.

My question is...
I can't decide if I want to put another (but different) Crypt in the right rear corner (maybe Crypt wendtii 'red') and move the Anubias nana to the center in front of the Italian Val, or if I just need to let the Anubias grow in. Thoughts?



He may be a poor quality Betta, but Honey Badger is full of personality!

Personally I wouldn't, I think it looks good now =)

Add too much, and the poor guy won't have any room left to swim =D

I like it, alot actually! Im on the fence about swimming room. Yeah it will cut down on free swim space, but my betta loves swimming in and amongst his java moss and java fern

I def hear ya! He loves lounging on a crypt leaf, or nestling in the java moss. Those two plants are in "his corner". He doesn't venture much to the other side, even though the filter just trickles, unless he has an audience to show off for. He's really chill if no one's looking, just hanging or building/maintaining his nest. But he's quite the dancer if he has someone to impress!

Yup, that's totally how he got his name! lol
When Lilia got him, she named him Bordello, after a band. But he used to have a piece of mopani in the tank that tannin-ed it like ca-RAZY! And the first time I did a water change, I didn't realize how low the tannins had dropped the pH, so I inadvertantly swung his pH big time with the water change. I felt just terrible, but he didn't even bat at eye. So, hence... "Honey Badger don't care!"

I've since removed the mopani. Candy, the Zebra Nerite Snail, was shredding it and making a huge mess.

Speaking of Candy, that snail is an algae MACHINE. Seriously. I have the lights on for more than 12 hours a day yo keep enough algae going. And she still gets supplemented! An algae MACHINE, I tell ya!
