haha, all the work you go to to keep the snails OUT of your tank, now you have to go hunting for them. . . I find this hilarious for some reason! I hope they eat them *worries*

Yeah, I do substrate changes the same way - everybody out! Then I keep the old substrate in the tank in nylon bags for a couple of weeks to 'seed' the new sand - even though it *should* be fine with everything ELSE (plants decorations filters) going back in, can't be *TOO* careful, lol!

LoL Ches I actually like snails! They just look cool to me and makes the tank seem more natural with them. You just can't keep them in the same tank as puffers or they will be dead snails. Snails are natural pray for most puffers including Dwarf puffers. So I am not worried about them not eating them. Just need some to feed them. That's the issue. lol

No one around me sales these lil guys but can order them for me. So both times I have had to guess what they were eating. LoL Hopefully you won't have the problems I am having with mine now and they will eat the bloodworms for ya! If not their two favourite foods are live blackworms and bladder/pond snails. They will attach them like crazy lol.

My LFS was suppose to call me about getting live blackworms but they haven't yet so now I get the joy of driving around hunting and begging for some LoL

I tried feeding the Pea Puffers and they all came out to look at the bloodworm. They all circled the bloodworm to the bottom of the tank, had one more look, sniffed it, and left.

Uh oh. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

I like snails too! I keep Nerite and MTS, tho - not the 'yummy' Ramshorn and Bladder snails that I *think* the Puffy ones like, lol. Sounds like you BOTH need some good luck vibes in getting those babies of yours to eat. Silly fishies. . . eat your dinner! *shakes head*

I think the Amazons wiped out the tiny snail population in the 35 already. Jodie is the Snail Police and she didn't see any today. She checks them regularly.

She was not happy when I accidentally put a nice adult Apple Snail, who was quick and had just grown a new ring, in with some Zebra Loaches. D'oh.

My wife just called me a few mins ago. She is at Petsmart and they have some bladder snails or Pest snails as they called them. So I told her to get as many as she can. So tomorrow hopefully the puffers will eat them. Depending on how many she gets I think I am going to setup one of my 10 gallon tanks just for breeding snails under my 29 gallon.

BTw Canadian you know about the Amazons beaks I know but just some food for thought. I don't know what types of snails they wiped out in your tanks but I am thinking I have heard that bladder/pond snails shells are too soft to file down their beaks and need different snails. I am not sure what kind though. Just something you might wanna look into if you haven't already.
