Yes, I was wondering about that since I read that they were messy. Still trying to decide if I go with Aquaclear or find a small external canister filter. I'm so spoiled with the silence of my Eheim on my big tank that I'm afraid the Aquaclear will annoy me... Thanks for the info on the specific brand to find the sponges for the filter intake!
I'm also curious about how yours have been eating. ;) Posted via Mobile Device
If it's an aquaclear 20 it doesn't make much noise. Unless you mean the trickling water sound. My entire house sounds like that so I don't even notice it anymore.
I find my air pumps make more noise than my HOB and Canister filters, unless you count the water sound. I'm speaking strictly mechanical.
I know Bored feeds his everyday, but I feed mine every other day to keep down on the waste.

I love my aquaclear. They are very quite. I never hear it. Great filter for a good price. Much cheaper on Amazon, than in petstores
While I was cleaning my tank today. I found one of my small Dwarf Puffers dead!! I am not sure what happen??? I assume it was lack of food or stresser maybe??? I am still in the process of cleaning the tank. I am taken out the gravel and replacing it with sand as it is easier to find the blood worms the puffers don't eat. Posted via Mobile Device
That sucks, sorry to here it. Have you been testing your water? Are your nitrates high, or water quality poor, is that why you're worried about uneaten bloodworms? Or do they just leave a lot of uneaten ones so you're going to play it safe?
Sand looks great, Jodie loves it. I don't like change.
I am going to try and feed my dwarves for the first time today. I didn't yesterday, I'm sure they were stressed from the move.
I have gravel so I'll try and use tweezers to make sure I don't put much more in than they eat.
