So I did the water change and removed the charactors on the Badis tank 3 days ago. Ever since then they have been out and about like crazy! I am loving it too as at any givin time I look at the tank I see atleast 2 if not all 3 of them. They come out in the front more and even seem to like the roots from the Water Sprite. I don't know what changed?? But I am glad it did.

On a different note, I am pretty sure I killed ALL of my Walter/Banana/Microworms. Damnit!
Not sure what happen on the last batch I did or what??? I am going to wait a day or two and see what happens if I don't see any movement I will scratch the whole thing. I still have the blackworms and they are still doing good. Hopefully I won't have a mass die off of them.

So today I had a first. I was fixing some plants in my Puffer tank that got moved or messed up somehow. So I am sticking my arm down in the tank planting a plant and all of a sudden my LiL ......... Puffer *BITES* me and bites hard at that!!! WTH??? LoL He normally leaves me alone but *watches* my every movement! I jumped soo bad that after I told my wife what happened I thought she was going to wet her pants from laughing soo hard!!

Love the tank pics!! And your new betta is simply gorgeous! You should be able to keep snails alive with him. I have them in my betta tanks without issue. So probably no more tanks.

I have the same problem with the dwarf sag in my 29 gal! It just kinda exists and doesn't do well at all. I'm going to move it to my 10 gal, so I'm hoping the better lighting will help it grow. Maybe transplant it to your 10 gal?

I had actually thought about moving it to my Badis tank but my luck I move it and it will die. It has managed to shoot off 2 new runners.

I still can't belive that he bit you! After you've cared for him so well for over a year. . . what an ungrateful little fish! I still think that he must have thought you were that darn cat coming into his tank again, and was trying to defend himself - and his plants - from the onslaught! *youch*

I'm SO excited that your little Badis seem to be starting to feel comfortable in their new home. Some of the fussier fish do take a bit longer to come out of hiding. I felt the same way about my dwarf loaches when they started to really settle in. They were always fine, but suddenly I started seeing them CONSTANTLY - they, for whatever reason, just decided one day that everything was okay. It might have something to do with the tank starting to mature, or maybe those beautiful WaterSprite plants are helping them to feel at home - whatever it is, I'm so happy for you, and them, and hope they continue along this path :) Such pretty little things. . .

Sorry to hear that you lost your banana worm culture :/ That's a bummer! Hopefully it'll make a comeback. At least you still have the blackworms, though!

I know I'm SO late posting this, but I just wanted to put it out there. Both of my parents are huge smokers, and when my dad quit his job they realized they were spending too much money on cigarettes. They did the math and actually figured that it's a ton cheaper to make your own, instead of buying the already made ones. I don't have the figures right now (both my parents are sleeping atm, I'm a bit of an owl), but it was a massive price difference. The biggest cost of making your own is the machine to do it, but other than that it's really inexpensive.

Back to the tank, though...that's so gorgeous! I'm so jealous of your watersprite, I really need to get my hands on some soon. And your new Betta is gorgeous, and ever since Jes mentioned the name Cupid in passing that's what I keep calling him in my head. Just like Nile and Squee ;)

Oh yeah, Jen! My parents did/do the same thing! But please - don't get the boy started thinking about smoking again - he's doing so well, and it's so bad for him!

Cupid! YAY! Cupid the Betta and He the (biting) Puffer. . . I'm in! Also in the jealous of that gorgeous WaterSprite category ;)

I was a huge smoking and if I could afford to make my own I would but yeah my budget is that tight that smoking is out altogether. Its been 2 weeks I think now that I have gone without nicotine. My wife is having a hard time with it though as she is using patches and LoL they aren't helping her any! She'll make it though as she doesn't have a choice.

Now back to the fish lol
Thanks y'all!! The tanks are looking and turning out better then I thought or excepted due to what little I have in them. I am dumbfounded that y'all or atleast you Jes can't get Water Sprite to grow for ya!?!?? I literally have done nothing to make it grow other then dose fertilizers once a week maybe 2x on some weeks. That's it! Ohh that reminds me I need to dose tomorrow. lol

LoL y'all and your silly fish names!! Too funny! I have seriously never named a fish or other animals for that matter. My wife usually does that and she or I still haven't named the puppy! lol

I can not believe that you have an unnamed PUPPY in your home! A fish is one thing - a PUPPY tho?!! Sheeeeeesh!

I think I lost a lot of my WS because I had too much water flow. . . I'm hoping that now I've got the surface of the tank calmer that it'll be able to start picking up. Hopefully I'll be like you one day, and have more than I know what to do with! I love the root system in that tank, and it seems the Badis do, too! Just beautiful!

We call it "Puppy" does that work for a name???

Once you name an animal that's it your keeping it and we don't know if we are keeping this puppy or not. We have to keep it till the mange is cleared up and the ear infection. Which might be another month or soo.
