LoL Yes BWG that is what got me into trouble the first time! I just couldnt pass up that Betta. The snails are starting to make a come back though. I have some in both tanks now.

I have been wanting Pygmy Chainsword for awhile just can't get it unless I order it. The Dwarf Sagittaria I got from someone online can't remember now... Oh it when I got some Tiger lily from someone off of Betta forum. That's back when I still had the 55 gallon up and running with all my Angels. So yeah that's been awhile!

He looks like a half-moon Rosetail, is that right? That's what our Princess ShimmerBlu is, and my daughter just adores her lil' fishy. I think. . . that the Betta fish are *TOO* pretty for my tastes, as odd as that may sound. Betta are like the Barbie dolls of the fish world, lol! They do have a ton of personality, though. I think that if I ever get a Betta for myself, it'll be a Plakat that's a *bit* closer to wild-type than all of these 'princess' fish I see everywhere. But I dunno - I don't think I would have been able to resist that snow white one if I had seen him in the shop, either! What a beauty!

The Betta was simply labelled as a Half-moon. My wifes friend said it looks almost like a Rosetail. LoL where do they get those name from?? I have never even heard of a Rosetail till last night and now. In all honesty i wouldn't even have gotten him if he wasnt all white. Ohh i think you right about Bettas being the Barbies of the fish world.
Ohh some of the wild bettas look awesome!! I know Segrest Farms has some pic Betta that are wild caught/ or who look closer to being wild bettas then the ones in the store. I look on their website often as my LFS orders from them. So I look to see what they have to offer. The is my favorite Betta ever!!


If I ever found on in the store I would buy with out ever giving it a second though. They had one close in the store the other day but it wasn't it. I looked at it for like 10 mins. The white half-moon comes in second.

Ok so its time to update this tank. I am going to try and do this from my Phone soo bare with me. Today I did a much need tank cleaning and water change. The whole time the Scarlet Badis were hiding like usual. Afterwards they were out and about more then normal!

Before the water change the roots of the Water Sprite was hanging down and touching the driftwood but since I took the Water Sprite out to do wc I guess it caused it to float a lil different.







Ohh and yeah and I took out these guys

As they were starting to fade and look really nasty! Sooo they had to go!

If I actually had a camera and a good one I think I could have gotten some awesome pictures. These lil guys/gals were really out and about about an hour after the water change! They were pretty much that way until the lights went out. I need to find a plant that can fill in the front a lil. Either that or more leaves.

Leaves will provide you with infusoria. Not sure if they will eat that, but having it couldn't hurt. I know mine are always picking at things I can't even see. You could always just pull out the leaves when/if you decide on a plant you want to put there.

That's part of the reason I put the leaves in tank originally. I imagine now that the infusoria are done come and gone. My Dario do the same. When I do manage to see them they are picking at everything. I can't see what it is but must be something there. I am not too sure about adding more leaves as they produce tannins. I don't mind tannins but too much can lower the Ph and GH. This tank already runs 2 points lower then my Tap water due to tannins from the wood and leaves. Though not sure if it still does but it was a couple of weeks ago. I will check it on a couple of days and see where it is.

It's looking great in there, John - you're really getting some good growth, and I am so jealous over your WaterSprite! The little Badis (awwww!) really seem to enjoy those roots. . . I love them! You did manage to get some really nice shots of the tiny things - I want to see what you can do with a camera that isn't attached to your phone sooooo bad, lol! I can't believe how many MTS I see all over that wood! What type of moss do you have attached to it?

Is your daughter upset that you got rid of the figurines? I don't know how you kept them for so long - all of our figurines always end up getting so nasty and the paint starts bubbling up off of them - it's horrible!

Yeah am betting once I figured out how to use a fancy camera I could get great shots!!! I have managed to figure out how to get thr shots out of this pos phone and some do manage to look good!

There are tons of MTS in this tank. I need to remove some and put them in my other tanks. They LOVE that wood! I have had other types of wood and they didn't climb over it as much as they do on this wood. The moss is just Java Moss and I trimmed it to put some on another piece of driftwood in my puffer tank.

Ohh my daughter doesn't know I took them out yet or if she has figured it out she hasn't said anything. The paint is starting to fade and is falling off on Spongebob but the other figurines are just fading. I just couldnt take it anymore! I will tell her later or if she asked before I say anything I will come up with something. Though chances are she won't even notice.
