Odd- they show up for me. Maybe you have to be logged into my gmail account to view them. If so, my gmail password is...

Okay, lets try this again.

This small Amazon Sword plantlet was in one of my soil tanks for 3 months, and hardly grew at all. I placed it in the new substrate, and it grew 6 new leaves in 3 weeks. Compare the older leaves that show nutrient deficiency to the newer ones.

Creeping jenny- Grew a new node in 2 days. (Had two sets of leaves when I planted it)

The whole tank. The water is actually clear. Not sure why it appears cloudy... Might be the sunlight from a nearby window, or the glass could be dirty. Better picture of the substrate though- shows the variation in color.

The betta ;)

The colors of everything are washed out.. The substrate doesn't look so light in person. These photos were shot spur of the moment with a friend's phone... Pardon the low quality.

Should probably get a better camera if your trying to get people to be interested...

What kind of lighting are you running on the tank?

I know I need a better camera... That was a camera phone, kind of spur of the moment.

13W 6500k CFL with a crappy reflector. I'm hoping I can send a sample to someone with a better camera.

Well im setting up a 5g next week actually... not sure what parameters im gonna be using. Hoping to get it in a high-light + excel setup.

However, for your pictures, even a cheap point and shoot will give you better pictures than a cell phone, unless its one of those fancy smart phones.

Shoot me a PM if you still need testers. I am building a new 20L and breaking down a 5G to use as a shrimp tank so I can use this in there. It will be planted as all my tanks are. I have attached a pic of my pride and joy nano which I started on 04/19 of this year. It was my first soil based tank and it is using Miracle Gro Organic with a sand cap. It houses a school of Celestial Pearl Danios and a few ghost shrimp. My intentions with the 5 gallon would be a larger scale of this tank. I can try your substrate capping it with sand and heavily planting it and house a similar school of CPD's and some other variety of shrimp. Let me know and I would be happy to give it a shot. I would post a tank journal with regular updates like this tank you see here. I have a decent digital p/s camera and when I need better quality shots I have access to a better digital and if need be I know someone with a pro camera, it's just a pain to get him to come over. Shoot me a PM and let me know. I don't mind at all paying for shipping.

Is that tank glass or acrylic? It has excellent clarity...

The tank is a Finnex 4 gallon glass with a curved edge front and purchased on eBay. They go for $18 bucks. The silicone job is decent, not perfect but this is not an ADA tank either. I clean it every couple of weeks when I take pics but that is about it. The Olive Nerite snail that resides there does the heavy work for me. Now I wish I could zing him through the inlet and outlet tubes for the canister filter so I would not have to deal with that! :)

Hahah you and me both... cleaning the tubes is by far the most annoying task of keeping a tank presentable. Your tank is beautiful.

Thank you. This little tank is my pride and joy. I like to leave it be as much as possible letting it do it's own thing. Other than water top offs, feeding and adding the occasional ferts there isn't much to it. The pipes though are the bane of my existence. LOL
