Hornwort is a badass plant, the best shipping methods for plants that ive seen is to wrap it neatly in soaked newspaper and then put it in a bag. The healthies plants i get in the mail are packed that way. YOu just rinse it off when you get it.

Well now that somebody's interested in it the needles have dropped off because of temps again. If you give it a week it'll come back. This plant seems to be a little finicky about it going from cool to hot and back to cool again which is unfortunate since it's Iowa and my boyfriend doesn't leave the air conditioner on. I have quite a bit of Anacharis that's growing like a weed too if anybody's interested. There isn't a lot of real estate for plants in a 10 gallon tank.

selling plants is a good way to offset the costs of running a tank. I would have been interested in the anachris... but too late now...

I thought I told you about it. Oops sorry If I could get a job I have an empty tank sitting in my grandmothers garage that I'm itching to put this stuff in for myself. Alas my luck is no good.

The box I got was undamaged though might have been the difference betweenthe handlers. I agree though might want just a little amount of water and a moist towel. That seem to work great for the little guys.

The Hornwort is beginning to come back already. Someone in a steadier climate would have more luck with it, or even someone with central air/an air conditioner. I thrived in 76-78 degree water but doesn't like 80-82 if it's not constant. My tank is in my boyfriends apartment so there's only so much I can do to keep things cool for them. I separated and counted the Anacharis last night and I have 18 pieces anywhere from 2 inches to 6-8 inches with roots on them. At least 10 of them are up for grabs since I'm trying to keep what I have growing and run out of space easily.

Also, plants would be safe in a bubble mailer instead of a more expensive box wouldn't they?

If it's warm enough, just fill it with water and put it outside with the plants to make it a grow-out tank.
Add a handful of fresh garden soil, and a couple weeks later when the water settles add the plants and one or two hardy fish to control the mosquitos (like guppies)

5.35 if you want a box, probably less for a bubble mailer. I haven't checked yet.

Anacharis wouldn't be completely free though.
