Not too happy, Lord knows I don't want to become a Shrimp rancher. Are they territorial? | I'm a shrimp rancher! Shrimps are not hard on plants, they keep plants (and the tank) algae free. I have a little 6gl planted, teeming with RCS. I drop in an algae wafer and they all wander over like a herd of cows to the hay bale. I've never noticed anything territorial going on with them. I keep mine at 77 degrees, ph is 7.8 (San Diego tap water) and mine seem pretty happy. What can you house with RCS? Nothing, in my opinion. Shrimps are tasty snacks for everyone, unless you're an oto. I can attest to the fact that a betta can chow down on 20 RCS in less than 24 hours.
Shrimps do such a great job on mowing down algae I wouldn't want to keep otos with mine as I think the otos would starve.
