I got a hold of a used 260 watt Coralife light and the either the guy never changed the bulbs or the salt made the lights literally glued to the inserts of the end of the ballest (?). OH yeah, it is the straight pin version.
I got it home and pluged it in. It worked fine, just all the lights were basically done and used up. So I went to remove them and I couldn't get them off. I saw a screw in the back of the ballast end and thought for some reason that the lights were screwed in. So I unscrewed one and the ballest actually came apart. So I put it back together.
So I took some flat head screw drivers and tried to pry it apart the best I could and ended up breaking 2 of the 4.
I have a picture I'll try to post if it won't now. The part where the light attaches to needs to be completely replaced. I need to cut the wire and just replace the ends. If you notice in the picture, I still couldn't get one of the ends of the light bulbs off. I actually tore the light bulb from it's connecting end.
And one of the 4 fan covers on top is missing too. Other than that it's fine. Only cost me fifty bucks too.
