Feedback wanted

I am seriously considering getting the large Aquaripure filter but before I do I really would love to hear some feedback from those who have already bought one.

So let's hear it. Good or bad.
1. Is it easy to use?
2. How long have you had it?
3. How long did it take to get the output of the filter to 0 nitrates?
4. Do you have it in a freshwater tank or saltwater tank?
5. Do you feed it faithfully and the recommended dosage?
6. This one is a biggie - If you had to do it again would you? If not why not.

Also any additional information would be welcomed. I have already read all of the feedback from their site but now I am looking for what I would consider unbiased, unfiltered, unsorted feedback.

I hope you get some feedback. If you look around at some of the other larger forums like Reef Central they have more posts about Aquaripure. As I have never been a sponsor to Reef Central or really posted anything on it I would consider it as unbiased as it could possibly get.

Basically I feel like I have a pretty high customer satisfaction rate and I send a lot of requests for feedback to cstomers so I can improve my product and website. I also have a lot of repeat customers who buy them for more than one tank. The record I have heard of is some guy who posted that he had 7 Aquaripures for 7 different tanks.

They are not an overnight miracle cure all though. Customers need to be a little patient while it cycles and the directions need to be followed. I guess maybe sometimes customers expect more from it than what it is. It's a tool to help you with your quest to provide your fish with the best possible aquarium. It doesn't do everything and it still takes a lot of knowledge and effort to properly maintain an aquarium.

As you really wanted feedback from customers I will not say anymore.

Answers to your questions:

3. How long did it take to get the output of the filter to 0 nitrates? 6 weeks
4. Do you have it in a freshwater tank or saltwater tank? saltwater
5. Do you feed it faithfully and the recommended dosage? Yes 15 ml of Vodka every Friday
6. This one is a biggie - If you had to do it again would you? If not why not. I would absolutely get one in a heart beat. This just takes one parameter out that you don't have to worry about.

Every so often I open the needle valve all the way and let any trapped Nitrogen and carbon dioxide gas out of the filter housing. Then I dial in the needle valve until you have 1 ounce of water flowing into the cup (that comes with the unit) in 23 seconds. This is as per the directions.

5 minutes per week to add Vodka
5 minutes per week to adjust the flowrate

For zero nitrates this is a fabulous device that I would recommend to anyone.

I would like to point out a couple of things. The cup that comes with the unit is 15ml or just about 1/2 oz or 1 measuring tablespoon, not 1 oz.

Also, some tanks might want to inject nutrient and/or adjust the flow rate just a little more often for optimum performance although once a week is probably all a majority will need.

What size tank do you have? What size Aquaripure do you have? Do you have 0 nitrates in your tank now? If not what is the reading now? Has the unit clogged at all? If so what is the process for clearing it?

I have a large filter,for about 4 month's now and havent seen a difference i am getting ready to do another water change.As far as clogging ,mine is cloged have wide open and have a drop a second.So i hope there is an anwer to how to uncloge!!!!Steve

If you go to there contact us page the faq is there,Said to pull outgoing tube from filter and clean tube and adjuster valve!!!!back in biz worked great got my flow back,Now i hope it will cycle.Steve

I feed it once every 5 days 15mil's,I have the extra large on a 150 reef tank.Hope this helps
