When mixing bichirs goes wrong

If anyone has had a problem mixing bichir species together I would like to know as much information as possible about the set up and fish.

1) All fish in question (species name and size)
2) Tank size (Dim LxWxH)
3) Temperature
4) Diet
5) Tank decor
6) Any other info that you thought was interesting.

16 inch ornate, 10 inch armoured 6 inch weeksii, 9 inch laperadi,
6 inch palmas polli, 6 inch senegal + 3 reedfish (10-14 inch)

54x18x30H (inches)

27-28c

prawn, muscle, bloodworm, lancefish & hikari carnivorous pellets

lots of fake rocks, all hollow and with large openings

the weeksii hated the palmas polli and would bite its tail, often hard and on two occasions drew blood. I rehomed the weeksii.
the laperadi hated the senny and would chase it incessantly. I rehomed the senny.

that leaves the armoured, the ornate, the laperadi, the palmas polli and the reedfish all happily living together. the ornate, being the largest is starting to become more intollerant of the others but he will be going to a friend soon who has a similar sized female and hopes to breed them.
