yup i live in Penang ,Malaysia. we have the largest lfs in South East Asia so we get nearly everything here.It's a bonus if you like Discus or dragon fish hehehehe endangered in the wild but we have thousands of captive bred dragons locally. I could easily buy 300 or more 4 inch specimen of highback arowanas at rm 300 per fish.we have 3 lungfish in the lfs they are selling at rm120 per fish huge specimen 2 feet ling the least.

what about snakeheads..can you keep those in your aquariums there? I just watched another show and I guess there are King snakeheads too..oh Yeah monster fish catchers on Animal planet..have you seen?

Ok... I know I'm a little late on this thread, but it looks like a cross between a Tire Track Eel and a peacock eel.

I don't have much knowledge about lungfish. One time I saw one at my on of my lfs's. The poor thing was closed up in one of those little plastic "tanks" (too small to be a tank, really, but I can't think of what its real name is). It was in a tank with some big and small fancy Goldfish. Cost $80 too, it was about 8 inches long.
It wasn't very lively then. I wonder if someone ever bought it, or if it died in the little container.

Yes you're right, it does look like a cross between them. It's so confusing... Is it possible for the different varieties of eels to breed with one another???
And awww I hope somebody bought the lungfish! =(

i used to keep 6 juvi in a 4 feet tank till one decided to crack it.that was the last time i kept it.ponds are far better for keeping snakehead and we have a few large ones living in a monastery in Penang. they get a beautiful purplish sheen on their bodies once they urn adult.the poplaion has dropped here people eat them and habitat destruction is causing the decline.

will do if i get it. i heard it likes the opposite of what the aro likes. water filled half way like a padarium is more suitable for a lung fish instead of being filled up like a normal aquarium.
