3 small cory cats might work for slower fish. Just make sure they are not too small because the ABF might decide to snatch one up if it gets too close on one of their jaunts to the surface.

A few floating plants are good as long as you have some open spots for the ABF to feed in.

Any small fish that will go to the surface could become a snack so pick tank mates wisely.

They have 4 of the abf at the pet store but they guy said I should let some fish get the bacteria levels up first since they are scaleless and might die right now so I picked up 3 puffers from walmart (90 day guarantee) and they are doing great; eating the mealworms though not the crickets. I may take them back eventually and get the abf, who knows, but in either case I need to find something to eat those crickets. I was thinking of something like an aquatic salamander or frog. Btw, the figure 8 puffers are doing fine together; their little bellies are all bloated with mealworms so I don't think they care to be aggressive with all that food around. The downside is they spit a lot of the chitin out and it's messy.
