Silver Gar eating behavior

I have had my Hujeta/Silver Gar for 8 days now and he seems to be doing fine. However, are these guys really picky eaters? Reason why I am asking is because sometimes he goes after the blood worms and krill that I feed him with authority and there are other times where he is not interested in food. It seems like he eats at random times during the day and have had success with him eating every 2 days so far. Is this normal eating behavior?

I've never kept these animals before, so I may not be the best person to answer this question, but from what I've read they *can* be picky sometimes, especially when new. I'd call the shop where you got him and see if you can figure out what they've been feeding him and how often? Either way, as long as he's eating something, he's probably okay. Every two days is plenty of food for most fish. :)
