RopeFish feeding help

Hey I just bought a ropefish from my lps and I was wondering if there were any type of fish flakes that he would eat. He is about 10" long and seems allright. I was just wondering if there were an alternative to blood worms or feeder fish?

these are a few sites with info on feeding and others things you might want to think about.

they need a meat based diet.
try shrimp/prawn, cockle, muscle, whelks etc (no fowl or mammal meat).
also I have found they do like Hikari sinking carnivorous pellets.

i would imagine they would eat similar foods as my bichir...
i feed them shrimp pellets, live ghost shrimp, frozen blood worms, live brine shrimp, frozen brine shrimp, and they even take a few flakes sometimes from what my silver dollars miss

This is going to sound crazy but I had a rope fish a while back that wouldn't take flakes or shrimp pellets and I thought I was out of options. But one day I was working in the yard and got a hunch and I brought in a regular worm like you would find under a rock and dropped it in and the rope fish hit it like a 9lb hammer. And it got hooked and would only eat those worms... Started growing like crazy as well until it jumped out of the tank and commited suicide. The strange thing is I had 2 pacu's in the tank that were supposed to be vegetarian and they got hooked on the worms as well

It didn't make mine sick at all, I mean they have to eat something in the wild. No one goes out and drops flakes in the river haha. I wouldn't see why it would hurt. But best of luck with your fish!
