reed/ropefish questions

i have a new 55 set up, medium/heavily planted
i have a few questions about rope fish
i know they are escape artist and im not to sure if i wana tape up my tank so what if i leave my water level 3-4 inches low would that be okay?( i do have a hood with only a few cuts made for filter's/heater
also ive been waiting 3 weeks or so for all my plants to root into the substrate will the ropefish pull them up with careless swimming? because that wil get old real fast
and yes i do have a hiding place made for him out of a purpose broken flower pot
also i hear they enjoy snails? is this true?(i mean to eat them)

hi, ive never really had problems with them pulling up my plants. Tbh they spend most of their time under a piece of bogwood. You will still need to secure your lid, they can jump very well

Yes mine is also in a planted tank..I've never had any problems..and this is going on 2 years now...I wouldn't worry to much, but all species have their own personalities attached to a general specific species behaviour list.so to each their own..I wouldn't worry about the plants though.
