longnose alligator gar

i was wondering has any one ever kept one and will it be ok with a full grown jaguar cichlid.

1st what type of gar do you have? Longnose or alligator? It would depend on tank size and the size of the gar. If the gar is smaller than the jag then it would be a good change the jag would bully the gar and if the gar is big enough to eat the jag it will.

it was called a longnose alligater gar at the shop. it is 2/3 of the size of the jag

well post up a pic. i highly doubt its an alligator gar. It is most likely a longnose or florida.

not completly sure it is either the crocidile or alligater gar.

croc gars are very rare and you should be able to tell if its an alligator gar easily by the snout and placement of the eye. Look up some pics on google and see if you can make a match.

it is not a aligater gar it is a spotted gar tahnks for the help
