I don't know much about them but I don't think the electrical impulses would harm the other fish, not 100% sure though.

I do know however that they are very sensitive to a lot of ingredients in medications, so be evry careful to read everything carefully before using it. I have seen ones that say specifically not to be used with this fish but others you'd have to check out the ingredients.

If you have other fish that use electrical impulses as well they can freak each other out. (some knifes, mormids)

I had one for a while but got rid of it because they require special feedings of small worms.

Hey Gump, I didn't know that you got rid of your elephant nose. I didn't have any feeding trouble with Ralph (R.I.P.) but he was a little aggressive with other fish when he was feeding, he would shove them out of the way, and being that he was much larger, well....let's just say, one of the small corycats only has one eye :(

For anyone considering an African Elephant Nose, please be very aware that they tend to be suicidal and can escape from the smallest of openings (top of the tank). I was horrifed to find Ralph dried up on the floor behind the aquarium. He had escaped from an opening that I never would have imagined he could have fit through.
