I'm no expert with these monster fish but I would just like to say that I don't think the plants would last any time with the sev in the tank and possibly the texas as well. You also mentioned oscars and I don't think the plants would last any amount of time with this fish either.

yup like all cichlids, they all like to dig and they will uproot ur plants.But if u want too put the fake ones and see if u can tie then to a rock or a log in the tank.
