yeah I used to work for petco and we would get freshwater snowflake eels in. The first thing we would do is acclimate them to saltwater because they survived better, looked healthier and sold for a few bucks more, hehe. I had a morey in my freshwater tank for awhile and it was awesome but he wouldnt eat at all and I ended up bringing him back for fear that he wouldnt make it. There are some cool eel-like animals you can get though. My favorite is the bichir. They wont outgrow your tank and they are pretty hardy animals with a lot of personality. Dragon gobies are pretty cool too but not too active.

Depends where you are. You can't legally import them into Australia, so I know of one selling for $3500 AUD (about $2975 USD). It was a 2 1/2' of unusually good quality. babies are usually about $300.

Gymnothorax tile, i had that eel but it was sold to me as a brackish eel, which ended up living in a marine tank, when i brougth it back to the shop as it got to 2 feet.
