Again you are dealing with the amount of space and the amount of territory. In a very small tank (10 gallons or less) 2 males together (even with females) can get quite aggressive to each other. A pair is usually the best way to go with these guys, and yes, 2 females can also be fine together long term. Lots and lots of decorations will help to avoid any aggression levels between 2 females.

As for coloration, while there is a distinct difference between them, when they are young this can be very difficult to rely on. As the fish mature their markings can change slightly in both shape and color.

a pair,or even two females when they are so young ?

I would suggest doing a lot of research, online and in books. Find pictures that show the difference between them and get familiar with them. When you go to the lfs, spend some time in front of the tank before anyone bothers them, choose your fish yourself and very carefully. If the lfs won't give you a specific fish you point out, then go somewhere else that will.

Or...
get a large enough tank to get a group of them and then as they mature sort them out, keep a pair and find homes for the rest.
