I keep a lot of species and they will do fine with fish that dont fit in there mouth. I also have a school of giant danios with the bichirs, so you dont need a species specific tank. A 60 or 75 gallon should be just fine for a full grown sene bichir.

Im not worried about what I keep with him, it is the tank size. I can't get a bigger tank for a long time. I guess I should cross out him from my list.
