Bichir: I have never kept either but I think the Bichir will be much more fun to have, have more character and I think they look better and are more "pleasing" to the eye.

Definitely a Bichir. ;)

They are always out and about, roaming the tank. The ghost knife will hide, and you won't see him near as much. Also, the character of the bichir is very cool.

Also, besides the Senegal, if you happen to see an Ornate, that one is really cool looking.

Bichir, hands down. The BGKs are reclusive and nocturnal. You may not see them nearly as much as the Bichir.

Plus, Bichirs are funny creatures. They'll eat anything that can fit in their mouths.

Buy them as small as possible, you will enjoy watching him grow to his maximum size.

Tanks: 40 gal FW setup, 10 gal Reef tank.

haha, you don't even have to teach a bichir to eat out of your hands, lol. If they smell it, they eat it, even if it's from your fingers. I've fed mine chunks of shrimp that way.
