Hi all:

I would really like to have a couple of bumble bees in my 33ish gal. aquarium. I have 3 beautiful pearl gouramis, 10 xray tetras, and one male betta. Everyone seems comfy, with no unusual stress behaviour and they have been together for 2 months.. The tank is lightly planted, but I am adding live plants every couple of weeks, until it is quite full.... not too overdone just well planted. Now I have floating coverage = 1/3, plus anubia, and grass on the bottom and a tall full plant I don't know the name of. I fertilize once a week.
Do you think 2 "bees" would be comfortable in my aquarium???
PH 8
0 ammon
0 nitrites
0 nitrates
temp is 76 degrees

It seems to be doable with what you listed... I notice in your signature that you have a Chinese Algae Eater. Do you still have that or is it gone? It will not work with him. Another issue is that they may have issues getting food so you will likely have to spot feed somehow.

On a side note, Gourami and Betta dont generally get along. I wouldn't be surprised if at some point in the future fighting broke out, this is possibly even amongst the gourami themselves.

thank you for responding to me. I do still have the algae eater, but he is in a tank by himself until I decide what to do with him. So far the gourami and the betta are playing nice with each other. The betta flared a couple of times when they first were introduced, but now are ok with each other. They both swim the entire tank searching for food and site seeing. I do have another tank that is the bettas alone, so if unrest breaks out, he'll have somewhere to go.
