BGK and Bichir

Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum and this is my first post ever. Now that that is out of the way let me get to the impending question :)

I recently bought a 55g fish tank for my condo and am cycling it for use when school starts back up (middle of august). I have been doing a lot of research on fish that will fit in this tank and I have fallen in love with both the Black ghost knife and the Bichir species. Sadly, I have found they are both bottom dwellers and grow to a substantial size. I was mostly wondering if you think it would be possible to house a Senegal Bichir along with a BGK in the 55g. Also, other fish suggestions would also be appreciated (with the expectation that I buy either a BGK , bichir, or both)

BKGs get too big for a 55. The issue is the 13" width of the tank. A fully grown BKG might have issues turning around, and certainly will find itself living mostly in 2 dimensions. Stick with the Bichir. With their snakey shape, they have fewer space issues. A Bichir, a School of Congos, an ABF, a Featherfin, and maybe a Leopard Cteno or two, and you have a tank I would envy.
