what pairs well with gourami's?

i have 6 gourami's (gold, blue, banded, paradise, sunset and dwarf) in a 29 gallon tank. does anyone know what kind of fish go well with them? and how many? i dont want to overcrowd it. ive heard danios or tetras, but i dont want them to be too small. also i was thinking a rainbow shark? im not quite sure. just want to keep my fishies happy.

A rainbow shark wouldn't be a good choice because they get too big for a 29g tank and can become quite agressive.

Willow made some good suggestions. Personally I'd just add some cories as your tank is full of only top dwelling fish and the cories will occupy the bottom levels most of the time. Add a group of 6 if possible because they like to be in groups. I also find them much mroe entertaining when they're in groups because they're happier and therefore more active.

I've got a young blue gourami in with Danios and Cories (in a 40), and two older ones in with Harlequins, Cherry Barbs, Yoyo, Kuhli, and Striped Loaches; and SAEs (in a 75).

That said, you don't have a heck of a lot of room in that tank. Remember that your Blues (the gold and the blue) are going to top out a bit over 5", the Banded around 4", the Paradise around 3 1/2", and the Dwarfs 2-3". Whatever you put in will need to be on the bottom. If your tank is well planted and has a sand bottom, I'd go for a half dozen Kuhlis. A small shoal of cories should work or 3 to 5 Striped Loaches so long as you have smooth gravel.
