well i got a 55 gallon tank, which should be big enough to discourage bully, says the fish store guy, but they're not as reliable as you'd like. I'm also looking into adding those plants, but am worried about salt in my tank. I got a little bit of salt in there for some reason, just 1 tbs per 10 gallons, nuttin big. Any other tips out there cuz i'd really appreciate it.

Well, opaline, gold, three spot, platinum, and lavender gouramis are all color morphs of the blue gourami, Trichogaster trichopterus. Males can be very aggressive with each other. They max out at just under 6". it might be possible to keep 2 males and 3 females in a 55, but you'd be better off with just a pair or one male and however many females.

Logic is only the beginning of wisdom
