I would get a small bottle of Seachem's "Stability" or Hagen/Nutrafin's "Cycle" also works, and dose the tank immediately as instructed on the label of whichever product you get. it jumpstarts the bacteria and saves fish stress. If this is solely related to cycling, and it sounds like it, this will resolve matters overnight. Though, some of the fish may be too far gone to save...ammonia and then nitrite poisioning sometimes take time before the fish actually dies. And they sometimes recover when the poison goes away.

The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. [unknown source]

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If you’re going to take it under your wing then you’re responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]

Hello, I think I have finally got my tank in order. I currently have 3 Male Guppies, 1 Pearl Gourami, 3 Serpae Tetras, 1 Black Molly, 1 Silver Molly and 2 Bottomfeeders in my tank. I had 5 Neons but they were not a good combination, and were actually eaten =/

But there have been no deaths from poor water quality. I got a gravel vaccum and did a big clean, and I almost gagged at what was in the gravel, but it seems to be much nicer now. I also added some conditioner that was meant to heal torn fins and restore body slime, and an Ammonia neutralizer.

So unless anything else goes wrong from here, I believe all I need to do is keep caring for them and watching them swim around.

Thanks a lot, guys

Wonderful, glad to hear everything seems to be in order now! Yes, my first gravel vaccing was like that as well I was so surprised how dirty it was and felt horrible I hadn't done it much sooner!

Keep up with those weekly PWCs and let us know if you ever need anymore help!
Any pics of your tank and fish?
