I am awaiting delivery of a 48 litre (Interpet Fishpod 48, which we plan to set up using a fishless cycle. We currently have a small 15 litre tank with 3 platys in but decided to upgrade. I have tried to research possible inmates for the new tank that will live happily in that size tank as a community, but have found lots of conflicting info, so I would welcome your thoughts on the following community:

48 Litre
- 3 existing platys
- 1 dwarf gourami (I really want this one)
- 4 pygmy corys
- 4 neon tetras

Would the gourami be happy?

I think your community is fine, but probably maxed out for the size of your tank.

NO NO NO NO NO. I had a honey ; which is the smallest of the dwarfs, in a 10 g holding/tx tank and he was out of his mind he even stopped responding to me ,well food. If your bound to try it i'd say get it as a baby and see if it''ll thrive cuz thats the first tank it had. There are the sparkling gouramis that get only 1" but ththier not much to look at. Or get rid of your 3 platys.

tetra school should be bigger. So i wouldn´t add those. Dwarf gouramis often dont last too long...a sad fact. a 48L isnt stable enough i think so i´d go for a colisa chuna. they only get 4cms. Should be fine, even a couple, if u provide some kind of floating plant. But then colisas dont like fast moving fish like platys. tough call eh. ure platies, 2 chunas and some small corys shd work out fine
