Pearl Gourami Question

My plan is for Pearl's in my new 90g tank. I am a noob to tanks and you can see my log and pictures in the freshwater aqaurium forum..if you really care to look through all that hehhe.

Anyways, I know that cherry barbs and dwarf neon rainbows one should have a 2-1 ratio females to males to keep the males from harassing the females to death. The rainbows I have 3 males and 6 femailes the cherry barbs will be the same.

But what about Pearl Gourami's? I want to have 4-5 of them but am unsure of the ratio. Is it better to have more females or are they supposed to be matched up 1 v1? I googled this and I have seen both answers so I would appreciate some thoughts from some of you on here that have the experience. I really appreciate the help. Thanks :)

Hmm I don't think that's really true. Anabantids can be pretty territorial with one another, though pearls are one of the more docile gouramis. I would at least keep a ratio of one male to one female, though perhaps with more females. I'm not sure if I'd want more than one male even in a tank of that size, so you might want one male and two females.
