Byron, I'm wondering what you think about my gourami dilemma. I would like to get some more gouramis, but I thought my gold was a little aggressive. However on further reading she is fairly friendly. She did attack a small gourami I tried to introduce and she certainly defends herself, but she pretty much let's her tankmates live in peace, even the long finned rosey barbs.

I've read about some golds that end up killing it's of tank mates.

So, I'm wondering if I am just asking for trouble to put in more gouramis and should move on to another fish.

I think I have given my opinion through the several posts. To sum up, with sufficient space and well planted, it can work. But it may not.

The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. [unknown source]

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If you’re going to take it under your wing then you’re responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]

You're right, and your advice has been greatly appreciated through all your posts. In my earlier posts I was mostly talking in generalities, but in my last post I just meant to ask about my specific situation, and whether you would disturb the peace if it were your tank.

Thank you again for all your help!
