Question Making a Infusoria Culture

Hi there, I would like to begin my own culture of Infusoria. I have researched a ton and feel like i know pretty much how to do this. Except, I get mixed responses for a few things.

One is, do they need to be in direct sunlight or in a dark cool place?

Another is do i need to put a air stone in the jar with them?

Thans in advance for any help

I always grew mine in the window without air but gave it a little stir 1-2 times daily.

I just want to give you an FYI that may be helpful. I found this stuff called antaxanthin powder and if you mix it with water and feed it with an eye dropper it works much better that Infusoria. It doesn'y pollute the tank and the fry thrive on it until ready for microworms. You can get the poweder at Ken's aquatics. If you need microworms just P.M. me.

Forgot to tell you another handy trick. I keep dried Oak leaves in the bottom of my shrimp tanks. I have discovered that if you add one of these leaves that has been in another tank around a month or so to the tank with a freshly hatched betta spawn the fsh get a ton of micro organisims from the leaves. I'm testing to see if this will get them through the first week and to microworms.
