Hi....need info about Osphronemus Laticvius...

I have Giant Red Tail Gourami (Osphronemus Laticvius)...i want to know the best way to keep in such as size of tank, food etc...[/b]

Interested to discuss anything about Osphronemus Laticvius (Giant Red Tail Gourami) and Giant Gourami...especially how to breed it etc...

you need around 300 gallons minimum for one of them, my local aquarium has a fully grown one, its very big trust me.

Thank you for the reply...my Osphronemus Laticvius is very active eater...almost eat anything including cockroaches...is it okay? i also have one problem to take care this fish..becauze of going outstation for a period of 2 or 3 weeks...how to feed the fish when i'm not in home...are there any solutions other than asking my friends to feed him...? tqvm...

you can buy those automatic feeders (there machines, not those little chalky blocks that are meant to last for a few days) they cost around 25 dollars each, you can fit around 2-4 weeks food in there but for a fish that big you might need quite a few of those machines....

3 ft length & 1.5 ft width.....i guest...is it ok? :)

not really, needs at least 6 feet (72 inches) by 2 feet (24 inches) by 2 feet (24 inches)

the tank will be ok while the fish is still small but when it is fully grown it will need a tank that big.
