From all you've told us (tank size, other intended fish) the Pearl Gourami would be your best choice, without question. Read the profile of this and the other gourami mentioned and you'll see why.

Yup I'm def going with the PG. Probably 3. My LFS ran out today, but I did get 21 giant neons. They seem to be doing well...
